ABOUT
Welcome to the Natural Empty Hand Art where strength, size & age are not limiting factors. Jinen Karate Jitsu ingrains principles to build reflexes for life, exploiting natural actions and reactions to affect techniques including striking and kicking, locks, throws, grappling, self & weapons defense, pressure point and restraint strategies, pinching, choking and escapes. We teach combat and self defense skills to keep you safe.
Want a real martial art with a long history, real credentials? One that focus’s on conditioning, flexibility and reflexes to build confidence, awareness, strength and character? Not impressed by fancy uniforms, titles and certificates? Then maybe we're for you or your children.
Principal Kym Reid, continues to have contact with his peers, graded 4th Dan by the Szlagowski Karate Association and has a Senior Teachers Diploma (Shihan) and 7th Dan with the International Budo Federation. Both of these use traditional Japanese guidelines as minimums when grading. He also has his 6th Dan recognized, and is one of two people in Australia awarded the title of Renshi by the historical governing body of martial arts in Japan, the Dai Nippon Butoku kai.
Since 2007 has helped the IBF Australia grow with a huge network of instructors he has spent decades training and interacting with throughout Australia and now is the President of the national group. Training for over 47 years he still actively trains and attends seminars to continually improve his own skills. Students are encouraged to do the same.
Some students have trained for over 30 years and still enjoy themselves and many other blackbelts in other styles often come to train at the club.
We are glad if you become a champion at 30years of age, but priority is helping you to survive an attack at the ATM when you are 70. The focus is on positive outcomes for our students caught in adverse situations.
